This Paper outlined plans to move outpatient clinics and minor surgical work into the Primary Care sector, with G.P.’s performing more surgical procedures in local health centres and Community Hospitals. This will place new demands on the equipment at these facilities, and it is vital that the equipment being used evolves to keep pace.

Although you don’t need a major operating light for minor procedures, a simple examination light is not sufficient. Astralite has been designed to fill this gap to give surgical quality lighting performance in a product compact enough for small procedure rooms.

More complex procedures require a higher light output with a larger spot size. This must be balanced with colour correction which brings out the reds & pinks of a bodies internal colouring – allowing a practitioner to easily distinguish between the healthy & diseased tissue.
