Double Triumph for Brandon Medical at Innovation & Design Excellence Awards

Leeds based manufacturers Brandon Medical celebrate an extraordinary double victory at the Innovation & Design Excellence Awards held in London on 19th September 2008.

 Brandon Medical achieved the ‘Breakthrough Technology Award’ commending their devotion to innovative products whilst simultaneously incorporating today’s latest technology.
The second and most prestigious award won by Brandon Medical was the ‘Overall Winners Award’, an award which considers a variety of factors to find a company that is firing on all cylinders in regards to innovation.
The Innovation & Design Excellence Awards organised by Cranfield School of Management and magazines Eureka and New Electronics honour innovation within the design process.
Unlike other awards, the iDEAs primarily acknowledges the vital role played by design engineers in product development and recognises companies that show problem solving ability and willingness to take risks. Brandon Medical received the award after demonstrating that creativity and innovative design are fundamental elements involved in sculpting their success.
The Yorkshire based company displayed a great dedication to innovation and originality through repeatedly committing themselves to long-term R&D and Product Innovation Projects. It’s this strategy which has helped to shape and develop an extensive portfolio of products and awards.
Brandon Medical are experts in the field of Medical Lighting, Medical Architectural, Control and Power and Medical Audio-Visual Systems.
The products in particular which captured the attention of the judges were Brandon Medical’s AV System, Symposia and their new range of HD-LED Medical Lighting. Symposia is a medically approved AV System which has a diverse range of uses in and around hospitals. The product can be used to record live feeds to aid surgical procedures or can be used to stream them externally to seminar rooms for trainee doctors and nurses. The range has received an outstanding response from both customers and technology experts, including SONY who have approved Brandon Medical as their Specialist Dealers.
The most revolutionary products to demonstrate Brandon Medical’s pioneering excellence is their new range of HD-LED medical lighting. The range features the first medical light to use HD-LED lighting, a break through technology with vastly better performance than traditional light sources and standard LED lights.
