Brandon Medical stepped ahead of tough competition to be selected for a prestigious Ruban d'Honneur in round two of the European Business Awards sponsored by HSBC. All recipients will now prepare to appear before a third judging panel of experts which will take place at HSBC's offices in Canary Wharf, London.

Brandon Medical's lights reach record speed on the A1 Tornado Steam Train.

The Newly built Peppercorn A1 60163 Tornado was put on her first 75mph loaded test run on 18th November 2008.

Crowds flocked in their thousands to see the train speed through the station. Brandon Medical's lights shone the way for the train, which ran from York to Newcastle and through Durham.

Tornado is the first new main line steam locomotive to be built in Britain for almost 50 years. The £3 million Tornado consists of 10, plus a class 67 diesel locomotive equating to about 550 tons.
