In designing the new Quasar HD-LED operating lights, Brandon Medical had only one goal, to create the most perfect surgical light. Quasar HD-LED produces the biggest, fattest, most powerful beam of any surgical light. The high light intensity is spread evenly across the illuminated field to create a stunningly uniform working area.
Most operating lights use simple reflectors to collect the light and throw it forwards on to the patient. Quasar is far more sophisticated; it creates an optical image of the perfect lighting field and then projects it like a movie projector. This allows precise definition of the lighting field that can then be controlled with near perfection by a zoom lens system. Therefore when a surgeon changes the field size, it is simply the image size that is changed and not the image.
As a result of incorporating HD-LED technology, colours are visibly more vibrant and vivid. This enables the surgeons to identify the smallest colour differences to give the most accurate tissue representation HD-LED lights have a unique red balance feature which allows surgeons to adjust the levels of visible red light. Altering the red balance helps to accurately differentiate between similar red coloured tissues allowing maximum precision. Medical lights using HD-LED produce more useable light. This is used to create larger beams of light and bigger illuminated fields than any other surgical lights.
Brandon Medical is the first company in the world to launch surgical lights using the new innovative HD-LED technology.
Graeme Hall, Managing Director comments:
"The aim of Quasar is to create a step change in the quality of surgical light. It is a radically different approach that gives radically better light. The surgeons who have seen Quasar are simply stunned by the quality of the light."
